Operational Audits

An operational audit is a variation on the internal audit: an audit which focuses on the extent to which all aspects of management are mastered: operational matters. This transgresses the aspects ‘reliability’ and ‘legitimacy’. Often there is a link with the objectives of an organization (strategy). As a rule, these audit teams are multi-disciplinary. It is this multi-disciplinary nature which gives the audit its considerably wider scope, which usually leads to many interesting observations. However, it does require attention to planning and coordination as well: ensuring that everyone plays the role he was assigned. No more or no less.

INSTIFIN can either join an existing operational audit team, but it can also set up, prepare and conduct these investigations independently and can also report to management.

Talking to all the parties involved forms an essential part of an operational audit.
